Punggol Dam is sited at the tip of Punggol river mouth. The cost for building this dam was about S$65 million which included the construction of four tidal gates, other associated structures and related works.
JCL is very honoured to be working hand in hand with Shimizu Corporation, the main contractor of this esteemed project. JCL High Performance Concrete was specifically used for the dam structures that called for:
- durability;
- control of thermal cracking, arising from heat of hydration of cement resulting in temperature rise and the thermal strains in the concrete elements;
- control of elevated concrete temperature at an early age that may cause impairment to concrete strength.
